SCEplus is now available
Downloading and Enabling SCEplus
This demo version is a fully functional version of SCEplus with one exception, it will only operate for 30 days upon installation. That is, after the trial period has lapsed the tool dialogs will no longer be available. However, any estimates that have been created will be available, you just won't be able to make any significant changes and you won't be able to create any new ones.
At anytime during, or after this 30-day trial period, you may convert your copy to a fully functional version by registering your license. We strongly recommend that you try the demo out before purchasing, to insure that it satisfies your needs. If SCEplus does perform as desired and you would like to continue using it, the registration fee per single copy is $249.00.
Downloading SCEplus:
The following instructions assume that Internet Explorer is being used, other browsers will produce similar dialogs.
- Once you have thoroughly read and understand the instructions and the License Agreement, click Download Now.
- Clicking Download now will bring up the "File Download" dialog. Select "Save this program to disk" and click OK.
- This action will bring up the "Save As" dialog. Navigate to an appropriate director, perhaps My Downloads; however, if desired create a temp directory and then click Save. Note: do not change the File name or the Save as type.
- The File download status dialog will appear. When the process is complete close the dialog if it does not close by itself.
- Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the directory that now contains SCEplus.exe, as selected in step 3, and double click SCEplus.exe. This will initiate the installation by bringing up WinZip Self-Extractor. (You do not need WinZip to do this, it is part of the download.)
- By default the Unzip to folder (installation directory) is set to:
C:\Program Files\SchemeQuest
However, you may select an alternate destination folder. To do this, click Browse, this will open a dialog box that allows you to change the installation directory. After selecting an alternate destination directory, click OK to close the dialog box.
- Next click Unzip. After several seconds the files will be unzipped and copied to the appropriate directory. Click OK in the successful download message box and then click Close in the WinZip Self-Extractor Dialog.
- At this point it is a good idea to review the readme.txt file. This file may contain important information that you should read before running SCEplus. Readme.txt is located in the installation directory.
Enabling the SCEplus Add-in:
Launch Excel and click on the Tools menu. Next select Add-ins..., this will bring up the following dialog box. (Your content may differ from this example---that's OK.)
Click Browse... and navigate to the directory where SCEplus is installed (e.g., C:\Program Files\SchemeQuest), then double click on SCEplus.xla. Alternately you may select or enter the file name SCEplus.xla and then click OK.
Next verify that SCEplus has been added to the Add-Ins list and enabled. To do this, find SCEplus on the add-in list (you may need to scroll down the list to find it). If it doesn't have a check mark, click the select box and then click OK to close the Add-Ins dialog. Note: At any time in the future you may inhibit SCEplus from being loaded into Excel by unchecking this item. Nevertheless, SCEplus will still be available for later use, just re-check the box.
The SCEplus menu should now be visible on menu bar.
